Default Opinions wanted on....

Pocket Kings.......Now over the last week i have made three final tables and have busted out on this hand everytime.....

Firstly my Kings lost to 88 to ko me in 4th.....

Then in Mondays sunrise heads up my Kings lost to AJ

This morning in the sunrise again (yep i like this tournie..) cracked this time by AK..... to ko me 3rd.....

Now these are only final table examples but i have come to the conclusion your better off in the long run folding this hand.....

What do you all think......

The examples you have given are a bit vague, are you all in pre flop with all three examples?

If I've got 88 in the BB I'm defending my position against a SB raise (since I would have had you covered) Although I'm guessing, you raised, he pushed you called - Just bad luck here.

Easy call with KK - Just bad luck here.

Its a big call with AK, but from UTG you might be looking that you are overplaying Ax or 22,33,44 etc. You'd want to be called here every time by the AK - Just bad luck here.

See nothing wrong here with your play - just bad luck, which as we know.... sorts itself out in the end

I am wary of these hands though when you get down to the money.... AK, KK., QQ, JJ, AQ - Just got to figure it works out in the end.

Default Any pocket pair can be trouble !!

I have to say I don't like pocket KK's either but then i don't like any pocket pair untill ive seen a flop !!

This happened yesterday true, I'm in the small blind with Qh 8h with a good stack ...ok UTG min raises back to me .. I take a peep and call...also BB calls...............................flop = Kh Jh 8d ...me to act , check( I'm ready for action , i have them both covered)...BB checks ..UTG bets only 2BB...Me i love the bet, cheep call for me and we could have action so i flat call...also BB flat calls ..................turn 8s (hmmm)
Now i think i could be in front but i don't want to push all-in (I mean these guys must have something , right ?) So i bet 2BB's and BB flat calls.. now the UTG better flat calls So to the river.........8c
Oyi Oyi !!!!! So me to bet (they must pass I'm thinking) but i bet 2BB's again ...the BB passes...however the UTG moves All-In I call in a heartbeat !!...Send it !!!!!! Quads....
What hand did he have Pocket KK's ....It's the same old story if you slow play or try to trap with a big hand you'll get burned......As soon as the flop comes no matter what your holding , your hand is now dead especially in a multi-way coup.... In this particular hand he hit top set on the flop with both straight and flush draws possible on the board against him, he needed to bet more than 2 BB............Still as ive said before " I'm a good teacher ..but a bad pupil" !!!! Who knows on another day, i could do the same but i doubt it, ive been there and done that, and it hurts... So always bet strong if your holding the goods, if you walk into a better hand or get outdrawn, then that's unlucky, it happens it's pain... However not as much as if you let another player in by slow playing and getting done on the river !!
glk all benny
