Default British Open Golf 2013

Starts on Thursday from Muirfield....

Should be four days of decent golf...

Can Tiger win....?

Can Rose complete the double.....?

Can Westwood finally with that major.....?

Or will it be "Lefty" Big Phil making it two wins in a week....?

Let us all know your thoughts.....

I will be posting my selections on Wednsday night.....

A fast running links course is about as difficult as golf gets and thats what will be facing the players tomorrow when they tee off....

I think this year it will be won by a player who can adjust best and one that can play plenty of different shots...

So maybe that takes out most of the Americans....

As for the prices on offer....a lot of bookies are paying FIRST 7 1/4 odds until midnight today so get on NOW..

A player who although has struggled this season i think is massivly overpriced is...

RORY McILROY @ 28/1

Yes he hasnt been anywhere near the top over the last few months but at this price on a course that he should be able to play must be backed..

Another who has flattered to deceive over the last few majors and must have a great chance back on home soil is..

LEE WESTWOOD @ 30/1

Has tended to have a bad round at most majors and his short game has let him down. But if he can just hole some puts around 10ft then he must be a challenger come Sunday.

Moving onto a couple of bigger E/W bets i like the look of South African..

BRENDEN GRACE @ 66/1....E/W

Lost in a playoff to Mickelson last weekend where he showed great nerve over the final few holes to make some birdies where most were dropping shots. A man in form and can also be backed @ 7/1 to be the TOP SOUTH AFRICAN.

Another who could go well at a big price is Scottish born..

MARTIN LAIRD @ 100/1....E/W

Plays the American tour now and has won there but was brought up on the links courses of Scotland so i doubt he will have much fear and will have encountered everything this course can throw up...25/1 to be TOP GB & IRELAND might be worth a saver too..

Just a couple more at massive E/W prices who will hopefully give us a nice run are..

TOM LEHMAN @ 500/1

JUSTIN LEONARD @ 300/1

Both winners of the Open and although getting on a bit might just suprise a few...

I will have another look after Fridays round to see where we stand and maybe go again for the weekend..

just got back tonight from a few days up north berwick, visited muirfield today, course is very tight and rough is very deep in places, was in an italian restaurant last night and Tom Lehman and his entourage was in there having dinner,he was very amicable and thinks he can do well round there, I think Mcilroy will struggle to make the cut, was watching Brenden Grace today and I will have a few sheckles on him too as he had 4 consecutive birdies on greens that looked impossible to read. Justin Rose is my pick along with henrik stenson, but anyone can win round there and an unlucky bounce here or there will very costly, the weather was superb which means the fairways are hard and staying on them will be very tricky.

Had a dream on my 'hols' that the winner is going to be the same bloke who won it last year .. Ernie Eels or something like that
I also dreamt that the Aussies win this second test .....
Oh and Chelsea will sign Rooney

No idea what that women in the dream was trying to do to me though, she had strawberries and cream in her hand

Gone for the ..errr value and man in form..

Ernie Els (e/w) , at 100/1 ..and Lee Westwood .. win (he's steaming ) 6/1

Strange days ahead, so ive done both those players in singles
Also a single bet Aussies to win the 2nd test ..(Gu'day cobber) .. 5/2

and a small double ..Aussies + Lee Westwood pays around 20/1

Well going into the final round we are very nicely positioned with WESTWOOD who was backed at 30/1 before it started..

TOM LEHMAN to be top senior is also looking good but the E/W bet will need him to play one hell of a round for that to be landed..

JUSTIN LEONARD..is still in the mix and a good round from him and a bad round for a few above could well see him make the top 7 for a decent E/W bet as we backed him at 300/1...

MARTIN LAIRD was the big let down as he was in the mix at the start of yesterdays round only to shoot 81 including a 9 and a 7 and his chance has gone..

I having a few small bets today on ....

SNEDEKER @ 66/1.....E/W first 3 places

MOLINARI @ 66/1 .....E/W first 3 places

STENSON @ 22/1......WIN

Should be a good last day and hopefully Westwood can hang on to land a decent bet.....
