Oldham and the Professional Footballers' Association are preparing a joint statement over the future of convicted rapist Ched Evans.

The League One club confirmed on Monday that they are considering taking the controversial step of offering Evans a route back into professional football.

Further discussions involving the players' union were held today and a mutually-agreed statement is being drawn up, according to PFA sources.
