Is football going mad....

Again....:eek!:

Torres £50 million and Carroll £38 million.....:eek!:

Both not worth that sort of money (actually who is ? )

Football and the Premiership has once again gone mad...

It's been stupid for along time .. But what I dont understand is, why is it with a recession and cut backs and wage freezes for the rest of us ..Football can do what the fck it likes and the 'backhanders' that are going on, the FA are just as bad as FIFA , the whole football system stinks !!:smoke:

What can I add, I think Andy Carol is worth £38 million to liverpool, they are currently on a downward slide and he will help them stay in top half of table until they can rebuild a decent team.Newcastle are planning on altering their style of play,we are going back to beautiful football, like in the old days with keegan, waddle, beardsley, ginola.unfortunately in the mean time we will have to make do with beating mackems 5-1 and humilating them again in a 1-1 draw at stadium of shyte. Whole game is mad , sometimes think i would be better off watching/supporting whitley bay.

I think Liverpool have done the right thing brining in a player from the premier league but panic brought for £38 million

Carroll has the look of a player who will be great one day but that takes time and thats one thing Liverpool dont have.

Newcastle had no option but to sell at that price just as Liverpool had to sell Torres for £50 million

As long as Newcastle dont go into free fall i think the money could be well spent in the summer and this could be a great thing for the club

I dont get it !

There's no money at grass root level in this country, I go to small clubs (business) in the minor leagues, also Wycombe Wanderers, and who ever you talk to on the staff whether it be from the 'bar' or ground staff they all give the same answer ...'There's no money coming in, takings are well down, and as for kids football, there's no incentive other than volunteers who help out ..
OK, it's not the same for Wycombe because the also share with 'London Wasps' but thats another story, that game is as strong a ever ....

Lets see if Plymouth get wound up next week because they need 1/2 million to avoid the liquidator, but over the next two or three years, it's for sure some of the lower league clubs will get wound up, and maybe that would start a pyramid collapse, leaving only a few divisions and a Northern and Southern league for lower divisions ...

Football will soon be run by the banks .. then we the tax payer will have to bail the clubs out if we want football, like the govenment had us bail them out :brains:

In January 225 million in transfers :girl: Football will implode on itself soon ..

fckin mental :h?:

I think EVERY team in the premier league should give money to say a second division team to keep them going....

So each premier club would have a sister club in the second division who they are responsable for....

The championship teams should each have one in the third division...

Then they could loan out players if needed and give the youth players at the bigger clubs a chance...:brains:

hmmm Yes Tony .. but

There's to much greed, Agents , Club Owners, Managers ..
You cant blame the players for being greedy, everyone at the big clubs are being encouraged to sign for more to keep all the wheels oiled ...

Your idea is great, BUT the 'fat cats' wont do it, it will affect their off-shore Swiss bank accounts, with investments to oil , banking and electricity .. Everything is linked to high business profit's and with football there is a very BIG 'grey' area, where cash can be offset against tax claims for individuals :brains:

I think this will shake things up a bit.
