infuriating game
 

you play solid poker for hours and when it matters and the $s are getting worthwhile,the poker gods start with there 2-8 os for an hour and your chips are dwindling slowly but surely what can u do ? I believe you must defend your bb when your shortish,but its hard with 2-8 os even for me.how low can you go before you make the stand.I think I should of defended earlier with 9-10 suited but still had 3 bb left so waited and then never had another hand eventually called with 5-6 against a-10.was happy when i seen his cards but i never hit. poker bug is returning to taylormade and i may have to start playing again.

When i get down to around 6 or 7 BB's i'm pushing all-in any Ace or any two painted cards... If the blinds are say 500/1000 and i have 7k..it's going all-in before the BB gets to me.. preferably UTG, hard for anyone to call there. However hard it may be to bet, it has to be done .
There comes a time when you cant get antie down, so that your bet wont make a difference and you get called on all sides, you have to draw the line and say, "this is where i make a stand ":cool: A bit like 'Custer at the Battle of the little Big Horn'....mind you, it didn't do him much good :eek!:
But you all ways have two cards and you have to know that to win, you have to be aggressive .....here comes the cavalry !!:'D

the blinds were 4k + 8k ,I forget what antes were about 600, Im sitting with 40k in about 30th position,creeping up the $s ladder doesnt interest me,think i was in $200 prize zone,think $400 for 18th upwards,everyone raising and only being called by premium hands,Im getting bollox busting cards, 2-8 os etc no face cards and everyone else was getting the aces,couldnt even pick up 6-7 suited,my favourite last stand hand.I ended up in 23rd position out of 600+ runners which isnt bad,i watched a bit of final table and they done a deal with 4 left,we must have a debate about this, cos i felt the deal was terrrible,how does it work on laddies,who suggests what split and is it chip stack orientated by a pokermanager.Im not one for dealing but understand when theres thousands at stake sometimes prudent to do so.I would rather eat jam and butter for a month than accept a deal like last night,I find the details about the split and we can all give our opinion,mine is stick that deal up your arse.

middle name is earle herbie and i live like one too, out with the new acquaintance for sunday lunch and a bit of shopping therapy in half an hour,back to pub for 4 pm to see magpies thrash toffee apples 4-1, money on, bit of poker tonight maybe,
