nice one benny yeah i'll have a go at it had a go tonight 6 mins in pick up JJ raise to 300 one caller flop comes 2 9 10 rainbow bet 400 guy comes over the top all in called it he turned over K2 yeah you guessed it up pops a 2 on the river i'll have another go tommorrow but yeah to be fair me and sharky should qualify in fact most on here should :clap::clap:

yes mate becomes more like all in or fold at that point my last hand was A9 suited came up against 10 10 only had bout 2k in chips and i think mark pushed with A10 and think he came up against AJ but not too sure i'll have another pop at the weekend some ridiculous hands been called tonight mark was struggling with connection more than me but both discoed a few times oh well next time:cool:

My first Sky Poker experience....
 

...and quite probably my last one as well.

Almost from the off I was being booted every other hand, either a total disco or the gameplay freezing and any bet/play I made was being ignored as an out of time play....it seemed to settle down for 20 minutes or so and i got myself up at around 4000 chips, though during that I held AA on the BB and was raised into, before it froze again so my hand was auto mucked, then just before the break, I was at 4600 and again found AA on the SB....i had been setting the up BB by flat calling his blind and then folding to his raise which he did every time...same again and called....flop comes a delicious A92 rainbow and i check...he bets.....and i get discoed again.

I get back on and obviously have lost the hand so am down to just over 4k and then the 5 minute break hits...during which i get discoed and this time i cannot reaccess the game table for at least 15 mins...it kept freezing when trying to load up then table, then i had to re enter my log in details, and when i did it kept saying session timed out, so i had to totally close down the site and reload and re- login.....by the time i did eventually get back online, i was down to 2.5k in chips and on a different table of 5 players....who were all chatting in the box saying take as long as you can etc etc etc...which riled me beyond.

I clung on for a while, picked up the blinds with 99 to get to just over 3k with 15 players left in, and found AT while on the BB with blinds now at 300/600...all folded and the SB raised, i pushed all in, he called and showed JT...flop comes 998, turn 7, river 3 and im gone. Typically a sick end to a hugely disappointing, frustrating and galling tournament, as i know given a secure connection id have qualified very comfortably.

My home connection is not the strongest I acknowledge, but i play regularly on the Rivercard and Full Tilt and have experienced nothing like that...i had another window open to keep check on the footy scores (poxy Mrs was watching that Pride of Britain awards thing :C) and that didnt crash once through the session, meaning i did have net connectivity....i also wasnt the only player at the tables complaining about the connection.

As much as id like to play in the Broadway final, I really cant see me bothering with it again even for £12 or playing Sky Poker again if thats how it is as usual. Cant play poker like that IMO.

Yeah...just to confirm...Bally 15th, me 14th!

Hehe..small consolation, but gotta make sure its known i outlasted Bally hehehe!

Just been having a chat with a friend of mine (Mike Bowler Bally) who also played the tourney last night and saw me and Bally in it....he finished 30th FWIW...

Anyway, i was in full chunter mode about the disco problems with Sky Poker, and he said it is because im using IE7 with Windows XP..apparently that causes alot of connection issues and is not the browser of choice.

He said to download (free) Mozilla Firefox and play Sky Poker on that, which when he did that he has been trouble free for over a year now.

Firefox can (apparently, im no IT Johnny) be used in conjunction with IE on XP or Vista....so it may be the answer to mine and anyone elses issues with Sky Poker.

I have firefox (not that i know anything about that) but it wasn't a connection problem i had with sky ( i told Tony that) However it was the banking, because i have a 50 , 24 hr limit on my account:gh:...had backed a couple of horses the night before (which lost:eek!:) !!
With Sky you need to have an evening getting used to the software but me,,, I love the place:loveme:
