Wheres the best Tournements..?

We all play a fair bit of poker and it seems that there is some value to be had nowdays by playing different sites especially when there are some good cash prizes to be had with not many enterants.

I think it would be a good idea to make other members aware of these if anyone stumbles across a tournement that looks great value.

Hopefully we can build up some good info to benefit all us poker players....

bally73 July 3rd, 2008 08:01

here's one for instance ladcrokes irish winter festival in kilkenny there package is for 1 person where as on the rivercard their package is for 2 people and the buy in are almost idetical

TheShark72 July 3rd, 2008 08:11

Lee...you fancy making a play for the Irish festival mate? A serious one? I think im gonna go for it large.

bally73 July 3rd, 2008 08:27

got a few others in mind at the moment mate but will give it some thought
1st priorty is getting into the main event at the broadway casino in brum on the 26th july which is £1000 buy in but on the friday they are having a £50 rebuy super sat minimal 10 players to qualify for the main event next day
think the main event will attract alot of the big names over here and can see the feild being well over a 100 runners so will be a big prize pool
Lee

TheShark72 July 3rd, 2008 08:34

ooh...28th July is my birthday....i wonder.....£50 rebuy though will be a bloodbath for the first few hours....

bally73 July 3rd, 2008 08:37

yes it probably will be mate for the 90 mins anyway i'll prob take 3-4 buy ins see if i can maybe double or treble thru early on then sit back and wait for the proper tournament to begin

bennythedip2 July 3rd, 2008 15:52

Just what we need here !!

Well done Tonyo:D (saved me a job) This is what we need to look at and help each other to find the value tournaments online. Where the value satellite's are to get to the bigger tournaments. The point is (for me) I spend so much time looking at various sites for value and miss many opportunity's...:h?:

Tony2005 July 3rd, 2008 16:21

Sharky....im having problems at the moment loading that site and also v/c....so im going to have a look at this a little later and will let you know whats happening..

bennythedip2 July 3rd, 2008 17:28

I have noticed

VC are running satellite's to the live 'Grosvenor Festival" GUKF..winning a 1000pound entry's ...check for venue + big final in London.. Also 'bet365' are running some satellite's for the $2,500,000 this summer + other big online events

bally73 July 3rd, 2008 17:31

hi guys first post, got an email from laddies other day saying they are making the package for two ~(originaly advertised as one)

Tony2005 July 4th, 2008 10:58

Hi Madge welcome m8 ....hope to hear from you again very soon...

themanwiththeknow July 4th, 2008 12:19

bet365

have a very good 2.5 million guarenteed tourney coming up in sept, 5000 starting chips and 30 mins blinds ($1500 buyin)

plenty of sats from now till then ranging from $3 to $100

there is a sat on tuesday that is $160 to enter and there 8 seats guarenteed!!

they also have a very good heads up way of qualifying for this tourney

u start at level 1 for $4.75 and if you win you move up to level 2 and so on and so on, up to level 9 where the winner gets his seat in the 2.5 mill tourney, so if you win 9 heads up matches in a row you can get in for $4.75

also when this tourney starts any credits you have from these heads up sats will paid out in cash to ur account!!!

IMHO bet365 have by far the best poker tournies online, p/stars have biggest prizepools but by far too many entrants,

between 9.00am and 12.00 in the afternoon today they already have ...........

10k guarenteed $25 rebuy
5k guarenteed $7 rebuy
2k guarenteed $10 freezeout
2k guarenteed $2 speed rebuy
5k guarenteed $10 rebuy
3.5k guarenteed $10 freezeout
5k guarenteed $3 speed rebuy
$1250 guarenteed $5 freezeout

over 30k in guarentees and that is only 9.00am to 12 lunchtime

one of my fav tournies i do pretty well in is the 5k guareteed $20 freeze @ 17.45

the 10k guarenteed $5 speed rebuy is always good for some crazy poker

and the 10k guarenteed $10 rebuy @ 18.30 is good if you can build up a stack early

they also have a weekly 1/4 mill guarenteed tourny with buyin of $200, but plenty of sats available

tonight i will be in there 20k guarenteed $30 rebuy

BET365 IS SO FAR AHEAD OF LADDIES WHEN IT COMES TO TOURNIES IT IS LAUGHABLE

Tony2005 July 4th, 2008 12:44

bennythedip2 February 4th, 2010 21:12

Ladbrokes are on the UP !!

2 Attachment(s)
After making the move back to LADBROKES from SkyPoker over a week ago, with some small success, (2nd and 5th in two MTT's)
I've been looking around the site this last couple of days and you have to say LADBROKES have come a long way UP since their new software upgrade .....

What is most impressive is their Tournament schedule and the variety of different tournaments with satellites for two up and coming Irish live events .

Also there is the opportunity to play for a seat on their next CRUISE 1V in early 2011 and I'm also informed to "watch this space" for further events o:D

Why the move away from SkyPoker ? Well , why not ?
Numbers are down, and they have been promising a 'down-loadable' site for nearly a year now but still no sign , so,
to play there off your server makes the site slow with many disconnections ..

Also many players have been building 'player points ' over the years but cant cash them in, the points can only be used to play in small #50' free-rolls, and that is where LADBROKES can be congratulated not only can their points be cashed in, but also can be used as entry to cash tournaments ...
Then there is the 'bronze' 'silver' 'gold' 'VIP' free-rolls once a month for player points amassed ..

So, 'all in all' there's no comparison .... If I'm going to ride down the M1, do I want ride in an "De Lorean" or peddle like f#ck on a 'bicycle with a puncture' ????

Hello Ladbrokes:loveme:

Sorry SkyPoker but you need to look at your expenditure and whats more important your customers who are leaving faster than passengers trying to get off the 'Titanic' before it sinks, or your TV Analyst's getting free-bee- trips to the WSOP in the summer 3:-)

It's sad because there were some really nice people playing there, I hope some turn up here at talksportforums.com or maybe Ladbrokes Poker !!

I think benny had too much whiskey last night o:D o:D
All they need now is a horse :-O

Tony2005 February 5th, 2010 12:08

Just been reading in the RP that SKYBET telephone customers now have to place at least £25 of bets for every call....:eek!:

What are they thinking ...:h?:

bennythedip2 February 5th, 2010 16:13

No seriously Ive been looking in a bit of detail and to be fair, someone or maybe new poker management is in there now , but it all looks good to me.. :brains:

However as you say, lets hope they don't get involved with another horse ... And to Tony , yes I saw that about the 25 quid phone in bets ... I think whats happening is they have just started a new site and lobby with soooooooooo many people phoning in to say they have problems placing a bet :'D
They obviously thought, "Right well stop all these phone calls, put the price up to 25quid, that'll stop em ...:gh:

Also on the poker site don't even try to call customer service it's a shambles, ' the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing"

PLUS, don't get me started on this subject but the site (SkyPoker) has loads of 'teams' and 'cliques' .... (nudge nudge know what I mean John) ??
Almost like John Cherry and his mates getting together for some 'ring a ring a roses' ...:eek!:
Oh he's been dropped as England Captain now ,o:D
Maybe SkyPoker should take notice, have a word with Fabio ? :eek!:

byeeee;)

Pkrplaya February 5th, 2010 19:29

hehe o:D Im glad you've found a comfy seat somewhere. I've looked on Laddies a few times but theres nothing for us high rollers :'D to play at the times I want to play. Sky kept crashing all the time I couldn't play at all. If I fancy a game now I usually end up on Ijoker, usually Betfred, lots of stuff to play for me and big fields to muff my way through, and lots of freerolls to help build a roll (: Good luck

bennythedip2 February 5th, 2010 20:31
