my virtual stable

purchased 3 horses this morning from the sales ring

theatre o dreams

2 yr old colt, grade 1 class B horse

done several time trials with him today and seems to prefer the shorter distances (sprints) on soft/muddy ground

i have high expectaions for this horse

going to see if there is any upcoming races to give him a run out

roxxi

2 yr old fillie, grade 2 class C

done several time trials with her today and she prefers the classic distances, shes not too keen on sprints and not to keen on the long distance (2850 and above) so she is an inbetweener lol

not really expecting much from her, maybe some world challenge race (for grade 2 horses) wins would be nice

going to see if there is any upcoming races to give her a run out

little soldier

worst horse of the 3 i purchased, he is 2yr old colt, grade 2 class D, just the exact same as that boy ronaldo

wont get very far with horse, maybe get him in a few rated races and get him to class C and maybe get him in a few world challenge races that are for gade 2 horses

but not expecting much here

that boy ronaldo

after winning both his newbie races with ease gets his first proper run out tomorrow in a paying race

he is running on the candian dirt track where his 2 previous wins were, his wins were over 1200 and 1400 both on muddy ground and tomorrows going is muddy, he steps up to 1600 which im hoping he will handle ok, only problem here is got his training all wrong and he will only be out 85% fitness for the race tomorrow, which will prob cost him the victory, if he was 95% or above i think he,d win no problem

the off time is 14.33 (15.33 our time)

themanwiththeknow June 30th, 2008 13:06

all 4 have a run this week

that boy ronaldo

class D 2yo C race, it is a rated race canada (dirt) 1600 going....muddy

july 1st 14.33 (15.33 our time)

cost £1.02 to enter

little soldier

maiden juvenile C grade 2, stakes race. australia (turf) 1800 going....soft

july 1st 09.03 (10.03 our time)

cost 96p to enter

theatre o dreams

novice juvenile C, stakes race non-graded. dubai (dirt) 1000 going....muddy
16.41 (17.41 our time)

£2.40 to enter but has £9.60 added sponsorship money

roxxi

novice juvenile F grade 2, stakes race gr2. hong kong (turf) going......TBA

4th july 09.15 (10.15 our time)

cost £1.44 to enter

not really expecting much from ronaldo as he is only around 85% fit, nor am i expecting much from little soldier with it being his first run out and him being grade 2 class D

looking for a good run from both roxxi and theatre o dreams, if one of those 2 could bag a win on their debut run i will be very happy indeed

Tony2005 June 30th, 2008 13:15

Hi m8...do you still want me to put a link up to watch the races...

themanwiththeknow June 30th, 2008 13:25

dont think there is a link

only way you can watch them is by going to ladbrokes home page, click on horses then when the horse page comes up scroll down to the bottom until you see raceclubs on the left hand side

just click on that log in (using ur current ladbrokes username) and you can watch the races

thought you might have signed up by now and got urself a horse to play about with lol

once u spend £15.30 they give you £30.60 for free straight away

i bought a horse this morning for 7.65, bought vitamins and blinkers and stuff, came to £15.87 in total and they gave me £30.60 bonus straight away

so i used my bonus cash to buy another 2 horses and plenty of tack (i.e supplements, blinkers, alumites etc)

the free horse you get isnt really up to much as it is a grade 2 class D horse, but when u buy one from from the sales ring for £7.65 it is totally random allcation weather u get grade 1 or grade 2 class A,B,C,D

bought 3 today (2 of them free bonus) one was grade 1 and 2 were grade 2

so far i have 4 horses and they have all the tack they need for the month (blinkers and gelding is for life) supplemens and alumites are £1.02 p/month per horse

in total i have spent around £20.00 and have 4 horses and something to play with 8-P

Trivia Question...

Who was the numpty who posted this a week or so ago.....

"ladbrokes raceclubs

u buy a virtual horse, u have to train it and lookafter it, buy a stable and race it to win real money

i nearly fell of my seat when i seen this

surly people dont actually buy into this sort of thing

i mean seriously owning ur own "virtual racehorse" that u have to lookafter

LMFAO"

And is now addicted to it??????????????:scribe:

Surely people dont actually buy into this sort of thing????? LMFAO

hehe...good luck anyway mate....but keep your rifle handy for when the novelty wears off!!!

themanwiththeknow June 30th, 2008 13:42

touche

but im not addicted, its just for a laugh to keep me occupied till the new season kick offs

it was either that or go out and find a job, think id rather sit and play a virtual horse racing game than the latter

dug a little deeper in the last 2/3 days and u can make serious money if you know what ur doing and play the game the right way

reading the hall of fame yesterday and one guy has made 210k since joining

he is one of 4 who have made over 100k since joining

now im not saying i will get anywhere near those figures (because i wont) ill be bored by end of the next season (which is oct i think) but if i can get myself a piece of the pie ill be happy

bennythedip2 June 30th, 2008 18:20

'man'

Although i think you and jim need 'ya lumps felt', i can see the enjoyment and fun.....dont get to deep and involved...Ive told people about not getting involved with online roulette and casino but this, at least you can have fun small stakes but i'll stick to me dogs :'D glk benny

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 11:46

little soldier

finished 4th of 4 (returns of £0.35p) finished 4.48 lengths behind the winner, with only 0.88 lengths seperating 1st and 3rd

he never really had a chance with the other 3 horses all being class C while he is class D.

he also had the worst jockey of the 4 jockies

might put him in a couple of class D rated races, but apart from that i can see him getting shot soon

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 14:41

that boy ronaldo

finished 2nd of 9 runners (returned £1.95) beaten by 0.48 lengths, he ran the race at 89% fitness

no doubt what soever in my mind if he races 95%+ he would have won the race, no question

he was ahead with 5 furlongs remaining, ahead with 4 remaining, still ahead going into final furlong to lose right near he end

i think the fact he had the best jockey from the 9 jockies in the race certainly helped with him only being 89% fit

think he will get the win next time out

but overall he is doing ok, 3 runs and with 2 wins and a 2nd

finally got some profit on him

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 14:49

little soldier

entered him into a class D rated race to see how he goes against horses of the same class

class D 2yo C, rated race wed 2nd july 08 14.33 (15.33 ourtime) england (turf) 2850 going.....soft

£1.02 to enter

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 15:37

theatre o dreams

running in 1hr, 4 runners entered, he will finish 4th of the 4, he is class B while other 3 horses are all class A and a step above him, anything under 3L would be a bonus lol

payouts.......

1st= £8.88
2nd= £4.44
3rd= £2.66
4th= £1.77

seeing how it cost me £2.40 to enter him ill have a loss of 63p, but i dont mind spending 63p to give him a run out and gain some experience

Tony2005 July 1st, 2008 15:46

hopefully he might finish a little better .....when i get some time i will have a look at the site..

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 15:48

cant see it mate

class B dont really stand a chance against class A unless they are unfit

well chuffed with ronaldo coming 2nd when he was only 89% fit, like i said if he was 95%+ he would have won with ease

ill let u know how theatre o dreams gets on

Tony2005 July 1st, 2008 15:49

ok m8..look forward to seeing how you get on..

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 16:00

think the distance

might be a problem, he is running over 1000

from early indicaions on the TT his prefered distances are between 1600-2200

he is more of a classic horse than a sprint horse,

my mistake by being too eager to throw him into a race and have picked a wrong one

i think pacos boy will win the race, can 2nd LTO on the same track going and distance and is bottom weight

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 16:47

4th of 4

was never in contention, finished 4.30L behind winner

returns of £1.89

see if there is a more suited race for him over next few days

themanwiththeknow July 1st, 2008 23:59

that boy ronaldo

running in 1 hr time

just entered him into a newbie race to see what he is like on turf as all 3 previous races have been on dirt

so hes on england (turf) 1200 going.......soft 01.09 (02.09 our time)

themanwiththeknow July 2nd, 2008 01:20

3rd from 8

handled the turf fine, was 1.29L behind the winner but that was down to the jockey and not the horse so im happy with his finishing

there is 34 jockies that are used and the jockey i got is ranked 33rd with only 2% win rate, a better jockey and i think he would have won, but thats just the way the randomness goes u cant have the best jockies all the time

2 wins a 2nd and a 3rd from 4 runs so im quite happy with that, prob get him in a couple of rated and stakes races over the next 7-10 days

themanwiththeknow July 2nd, 2008 14:52

little soldier

finished 5th of 13, 2.71L behind the winner, just missed out on making some profit, it was £1.02 to enter and £1.13 for 4th

never ever in contention to win the race, was 9th heading into final furlong, but ran on to finish 5th

roxxi has her first run tomorrow but after that there wont be any races for my horse for at least 7-10 days, going to use this time to really find out each horses preferred distance/track/going and work from there, rather than just throwing them into races they dont really like and have no chance of winning

also my have a look to see if i can pick up some decent horses in the auctions on friday, also some good claimers over the next few days, might find something in there

so far my stable stats read

RACED.......7

WINS.........2

PLACES......4

EARNINGS £4.19

i have invested a total of £19.08 out of my own pocket, takeaway my earnings and im just under £15.00 down, but it is very very early days and you to spend money to make money

tiredeyes July 4th, 2008 06:57

Got some links to this "Virtual Racing Club" ??

themanwiththeknow July 4th, 2008 10:47

go to ladbrokes main page

click on horses

then scroll down to the bottom and ull see it on the left hand side

its called raceclubs

there is an auction today that runs till sunday, so some very very good horses at reasonable prices

i was on the forum last night and one guy said he was putting 2 challenge horses into auction today with a min reserve of £750, he got inbox by a guy who said he would give him £1000 cash to sell them to him privatly

madness, he just sold 2 virtual horses for £1000, one guy has put his whole stable up for auction as he doesnt have time to play the game anymore and has put it up for £2000, there is 3 guys currently fighting eachother for it lol

crazy money

tiredeyes July 4th, 2008 20:05

I'm gonna have a little dabble,

TiredEyes, NEWBIE (free) a grey horse with Sunderland stripes silks (obviously)

3200m soft ground, only at 72% get him up to 95-99% then I'll race him

themanwiththeknow July 5th, 2008 10:05

the free horse

you get given is a pile of chite, it is only good for newbie races (which u cant win money in or class D races where you will win only few £s

if you have a spare few £s i suggest going to the auction where you will pick up some decent class B or C horses that will win you enough money to get a foothold in the game and be able to keep your stable going until u understand it all

if you need any help on how you go about finding out which distance your horse prefers feel free to ask and good luck

themanwiththeknow July 5th, 2008 11:47

tiredeyes

did you know you can train him up to over 90% on his first day, then after that you get 3 runs a day

best way to find his prefered distance is to run him over 1200 then 2200 then 2850 on the same track (majority use american dirt)

this will give you an idea of weather he is sprinter/classic or stayer

then once you have his preferred distance, run him over that distance at different grounds/goings to see which he prefers

for example if the horse is a sprinter then run him over 1200 on different tracks/goings to see which he prefers

then when you know which his preferred distance/going is stick him in a newbie race

tiredeyes July 6th, 2008 12:37

Couldn't train him up to 100% on 1st Day

TiredEyes, Grey: His best trip (beating training horse by biggest distance) is 3200Mt on soft/muddy

NEWBIE Race: Jul 7, 08-0:39, 3200mt, America dirt (muddy) currently at 97% fitness

Good Luck TiredEyes

Can't even watch it as it only works in IE :(

themanwiththeknow July 6th, 2008 12:48

how come you cant watch it?

i ve found the race, prob watch it later see how he runs

good luck in race

themanwiththeknow July 7th, 2008 00:50

tiredeyes

wins on his debut (5 runners)

ran a very good race and 3200 definatly looks his distance, only 0.83L seperating 1st and 3rd, i actually thought it was going to lose, but just managed to hold on and get to the line

what is his fitness at now mate? is it still under 100%? if it is then dont train him as that will take him over 100% and he will be unraceable until he gets bk into 90s

if it is still under 100% then there is a rated race @ 14.33 (15.33 our time) it is for D class horses like tiredeyes, i have one of mine entered into it (there is 3 entered so far)

it is canada dirt track over 3200, only £1.02 to enter, prizes are 50% for 1st, 25% for 2nd, 15% for 3rd and 10% for 4th

should be a good race for you're horse if you can get him entered

congrats on the win

tiredeyes July 7th, 2008 15:17

Not going to bother putting him in a cash race as reading the forum the Newbie horses are chit, just using him to get used to the site and tbh it's terrible I find the navigation very poor there's no "back" button so you gotta go to the last page you visited by going through the menu's again. It's ALL abbreviations with a pop-up legend, why not have it so you can hover your mouse over it and get a mini pop-up telling you what it is.
I can't watch any of the races or replays coz I use Mozilla Firefox not that Internet Explorer junk.

Could be a great little pastime you imagine but Jesus they don't make it simple to understand do they.

Anyway Race #2 for the unbeaten gelding TiredEyes:

July 8th 00:24 (01:24 UK time) Canada 3200mt (Muddy)

"C'mon my son !!!!"

I wander if there's a horse called "My Face" :eek!:

tiredeyes July 8th, 2008 09:08

Tiredeyes snatches victory again 2 for 2 over 3200mt (soft/muddy)

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/7...orseig8.th.jpg

next race: Hong Kong 3200 (yielding) 9/7/8 01:39 (02:39 uk)

tiredeyes July 9th, 2008 07:21

TiredEyes wins again in Hong Kong he's now 3 for 3, 100% strike rate.

However he's went over the 100% fitness and dropped down to 50% so needs a few days off in order to train him back to 95%+

Would love to see how he rates against all the other Newbie horses but dunno if thats possible.

tiredeyes July 13th, 2008 12:05

Ok he's now 4 for 4, TiredEyes wins in Dubai this morning over 3200 (dirt, muddy) Ladbrokes have got me hook, line and sinker with this one, yes I'm actually gonna place him into a real race for real money and watch him come last !!

I'll pop it up here once i got him in one,

This horses is better than LaddiesPokerTwo, although thats not saying much really, as I could beat him over 8f if i could run that far !!

tiredeyes July 13th, 2008 20:07

Special Allowances Juvenile CF - Gr2 - 1 (whatever that means)

14th July 09:40 (10:40 UK) Dubai dirt muddy 3200mt

£1.92 to enter but I'm carrying 132lbs because of 4 Newbie race wins which doesn't seem fair.

tiredeyes July 14th, 2008 10:27

Yep beaten into 5th of 5, 8l behind winner and giving him 32lbs which obviously made all the difference.

Back to Newbie races and 15th July Canada (dirt muddy 3200mt) 01:54 (02:54 UK)

Tony2005 July 14th, 2008 11:22

Wow...thats really giving weight away.

Surely you need to up it in class to off set the weight ..? not that im up to speed with virtual racing......
