Default US Open Golf 2013

Starts on Thursday from The Merion Golf club in Pennsylvania..

A fairly short course par 70 with both par 5's being on the front nine..

The back is tricky with two 500 yard par 4's including the 18th....

With plenty of rain over the last few days there will be "pick and place" in play for day one at least..

Anywhere off the fairway is in trouble with the first cut being 4"...

So whos going to win this year....?

I will post my 5 to follow tomorrow and look forward to your thoughts on what should be another great 4 days of top golfing action....

So we get under way on Sky at 2pm tomorrow and coverage continues till 11.30pm on the first two days..

Still very wet there so will be an advantage to players who have a good game from 175yds in...

A lot of experts are tipping G MAC but i really dont think this course will suit so leaving well alone..

So for my selections its..

DUSTIN JOHNSON @ 56...Big hitter with a decent short game this course should suit well as for most par 4's he will be going in with wedge or some lofted sand iron...If he keeps the ball straight and the putter is working ...Hes the WINNER.....

HUNTER MAHON @ 66/1 (bet 365)..looks another decent bet to be around come Sunday. Maybe not the winner but with bookies going 1/4 oddds first 6 then he can be backed E/W

CHARL SHWARTZEL @ 40/1 and LOUIS OOUSTHUIZEN @ 60/1...Are another two where a small bet could provided a decent run..

For my TWO big outsiders im going for...

MICHEAL CAMPBELL @ 1000/1 (bet 365) ..Could be a cracking E/W bet ...in the wilderness for a while but showed improved form at the backend of last season and i think he could suprise a few this week

ROBERT GARRIGUS @ 200..Is another who can be backed E/W. Steady player with decent short game could reward..

Anyway lets see how we are going after DAY 2......

Paddy power 1/4 odds for 7 places when placing bet by mobile app.

phil mickelson @ 22/1
lee westwood @ 33/1
sergio garcia @ 40/1
henrik stenson @ 70/1
thongchai jaidee @ 200/1

these my 5 selections, rough is 4'' thick just off the fairway, miss the fairways and bogeys beckon, should make interesting viewing,Im having a decent bet on henrik and the others are carrying £5 e/w,also having first round leader bets on them. goodluck all who dare to try and find the winner.

Michael Thompson, could be value if getting back to the form he was showing when tying for 8th in the cadillac and taking down the sony open ....a little bit of 192 available on Betdaq.

Also sure to get a good run for your money out of Kuchar @ 25/1

1/4 the odds for 7 places, couldn't you back every runner e/w and come out on top?

58 runners* = £116 for a £1 E/W stake.

Lets see who the top seven are and what our payout would be if we backed them all, at the begining.

* are there only 58 runners?? I just took this off the latest in-play market.
