CECH SET FOR PSG:
The Mail on Sunday says Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing a loan deal for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. The 32-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before Monday night as Jose Mourinho looks to trim his quota of foreign players – but PSG’s Financial Fair Play restrictions means they want a loan rather than a permanent move for the Czech. The French champions also want Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon, who worked with Cech at Rennes and masterminded Chelsea’s Champions League final penalty shootout success over Bayern Munich.

PAPER ROUND’S VIEW:
Cech and Lollichon are immensely influential figures at Stamford Bridge – while Chelsea may accept that they cannot keep one of the world’s best goalkeepers rotting on the bench it is hard to imagine their coach leaving with Cech. PSG are a suitably illustrious destination for Cech, and they can afford his wages. Plus a loan deal gives Mourinho the option to restore the veteran if Thibaut Courtois fails to impress. It seems a logical deal – but only if PSG feel they need an upgrade on the Italian Salvatore Sirigu.

ELEVEN PLAYERS IN AND OUT AT UNITED:
The Daily Star Sunday claims Manchester United are set for a frantic finale to the transfer window, with four players coming in and seven leaving Old Trafford before Monday night. Dutch pair Daley Blind and Nigel De Jong are on the verge of joining, with Arturo Vidal and William Carvalho on the watch list in case the De Jong deal stalls. Meanwhile United will look to offload Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Anderson, Marouane Fellaini and Anders Lindegaard.

PAPER ROUND’S VIEW:
This one has logical flaws so large you can see them from space. United aren’t going to sign four players if Vidal and Carvalho are a Plan B and C in case they don’t get De Jong. They’re signing two. Even more pertinently, why on earth would United spend £60m on Vidal only in the event that they could not full off the far more modest signing of De Jong? It is surely the other way around. As for the outs – all are plausible except, perhaps, Fellaini. But this article is little more than a compendium of transfer rumours we already knew about.

CITY TARGET FALCAO OFF TO MADRID:
Manchester City’s hopes of signing Radamel Falcao look to be in tatters after the player apparently confirmed his move to Real Madrid, reports the Mail on Sunday. A tweet appeared on Falcao’s timeline saying: ‘Dream come true #HalaMadrid’. The player later – unconvincingly - claimed the tweet had nothing to do with him and had been Photoshopped. However, he was left out of the Monaco squad yesterday and is expected to join Real by Monday night after spurning City’s advances.

PAPER ROUND’S VIEW:
An extended loan deal for the brilliant Falcao would have been ideal for City given their transfer restrictions imposed as a Financial Fair Play punishment, but this was always a long shot given the player’s apparently steadfast preference for Madrid. City will not panic though, having done their summer business early and with four quality forwards on their books. This development clearly puts to bed talk of Alvaro Negredo leaving City for Real Madrid.

MICAH RICHARDS SET FOR SUNDERLAND:
Micah Richards could leave Manchester City in a cut-price £4m deal with Sunderland, the Sunday Mirror claims. City failed to find any takers for the defender at their £8m asking price, but could offload him on a season-long loan with a permanent move next summer – a similar arrangement to that which saw Gareth Barry go to Sunderland. West Ham are also interested in Richards.

PAPER ROUND’S VIEW:
Cliché as it may be, the 26-year-old Richards really does need first team football at this stage in his career, and he’s not going to get it at City where he is third choice at right back and fifth choice in the centre. A season loan would be a great opportunity for Sunderland to see if Richards still has the spark and dynamism that made him such an exciting talent early in his career. And while Richards’ home-grown status makes him a useful asset for City, their FFP sanctions mean they can hardly afford to stockpile players they have no intention of using.
