Default Mike Sexton (Friend of Stu Ungar)

I once met Mike Sexton here in England at Luton's Old Grosvenor Casino..
It was at the UK or British Championship at that time, maybe Steve was there as well, we both used to play these kind of events back then, it was around 91/92 i think ..

What i do remember was there was a lunch break in the tournament and a guy we both new called Dave Welch, asked me to join him and Mike Sexton at their table ..
Dave introduced me as i sat down, and to be fair i had no idea who he was then or for that matter, had only heard vaguely that Stu Ungar was a WSOP bracelet winner, who had died a couple of years back.

During that lunch I listened to Dave and Mike talking about Vegas, the WSOP and the 'kid' called Stu Ungar..
To be fair i was interested and fascinating but i had never been to Vegas and it seemed like a part of history i couldn't relate to, along with, my mind was still in the tournament we were playing, but i did find Mike Sexton very quietly spoken but intelligent person who i can look back now and realise how much Stu Ungar meant to him and what a good friend he must have been back then ...

I guess one of the quotes beneath the film possible sums up the life of Stu Ungar ..

Quote > "Mike Sexton characterized him perfectly by saying that he simply missed the point of what he was doing: to build a bankroll, to improve his lifestyle, and to provide for his family. i just don't understand WHY he had to do the coke. < UnQuote
