2011 Augusta Masters.....

Starts Thursday on BBC 2 and this year also on Sky....

My favorite golf event of the year and hopefully we can get the winner...B (:

The bookies should be going around 10/1 the field so im sure theres some value to be had....:brains:

I will be taking an in depth look at this on Tuesday and will post my fancies then....8-P

Anyone who has a fancy or two please post it here for us to follow....:loveme:

I think Martin Kaymer @ 20/1 is a big price.

Ian Poulter at 50/1 seems a good value bet to me

Tony2005 April 2nd, 2011 12:37

Yes guys i like both of those and i think this year we have a very good chance of a european winner....

I think that Justin Rose might just be coming back into form and could go well here once again after blowing up with four to play last year....

My only slight concern is.....Can he really win under massive pressure..:h?:

There is some massive variances in the prices out there,so I would suggest shopping around, totesport are very big on Ross Fisher 200/1,C Schwartzel 80/1,C Villegas 200/1,R McIlroy 30/1,L Donald 28/1,these are my 5 selections, but in all honesty, I think 80% of the field could win and got a feeling it will be an outsider this year. My thoughts are you need a big hitter and hopefully the putter will get hot for the week, gla

Well after Phil Mickelson's superb performance over the weekend in winning the Shell Open its hard to see past him as he goes for his third green jacket...

Sundays victory was his first since winning the Masters last year and he has come right into form at the right time...

But 7/1 surely is way too skinny even for a player with Mickelsons class...:h?:

At around 12/1...TIGER WOODS coulld be massive value if putting in a decent opening round. I feel he might just be getting some old form back and if anyone knows his way round here its Tiger. Never one to give up im sure that at sometime within the four days 12/1 will look a big price.

LUKE DONALD @ 28/1..isn't really a fav of mine but might just have the short game to go close here especially if driving the ball well. Not a big hitter but a superb player of mid irons so maybe he can get into the places at worst.,

DUSTIN JOHNSON @ 33/1..took time to win and has led a major going into the final round only to blow his chance with a penalty on the 18th....Big hitter who if on song could make this course look on the short side.

STEVE STRICKER @ 50/1..Is another player who looks like he can make the frame for a decent e/w bet. Played quite well Sunday until just running out of steam over the last five holes. Doesnt do anything spectacular but has a solid all round game and thats whats needed round here.

Tiger for me is a WIN BET with a decent chance of laying off in running....

The other three look to have great place chances and with most bookies offering 5 places 1/4 odds i think we can get at least one of these three running for us come Sunday....:loveme:

not sure if it still stands, but the winner at Augusta has never won the tournament prior to Augusta before,Mickelson has fantastic record here, think he hasnt finished outside top 12 for last 6 years. I think Mickelson will not be placed this year and CAMILLIO VILLEGAS will be clad in a green jacket on sunday night @ 200/1,because Im starting to believe I can walk on water im having a daft £50 e/w on him and £10 e/w on my other fancies. gla

The last three winners....Cabrerra (2008)....Immelman (2009) and Mickelson (2010) hadnt won another tournement since winning the masters...

Obviously that was broken on Sunday when Mickelson won the Shell Open.....The other two have still to win again

Woods shhots a superb 66 to now be only 3 behind and now the NEW 3/1 fav...:brains:
